Walmart has announced that they are recalling almost 6,500 pounds of frozen their frozen Great Value brand cooked meat meat due to possible salmonella contamination.

According to the USDA, the company that produces the meat for Walmart, George's Prepared Foods, released a statement saying that a small group of their meat had tested positive for salmonella and was suppose to be disposed of, but the frozen meat was accidentally shipped nationwide by mistake.

Here are the products that are falling under the meat recall:

Great Value Fully Cooked Original Pork Sausage Patties, 24.92-oz Use-by date: 10/16/19 (Lot code: 1091971894)

Great Value Fully Cooked Original Breakfast Turkey Patties, 24.92-oz Use-by   date: 10/24/19 (Lot code: 1171971897)

Family Size Great Value Fully Cooked Original Pork Sausage Patties, 35.6-oz  Use-by dates: 11/03/19 and 11/05/19 (Lot code: 1271972894 and 1291972894)

The numbers “EST. M2206T” or “P-2260T” are printed on the recalled products’ packaging.

As of the recall, there haven't been any cases of salmonella reported from the tainted meat, however the company that produces the meat, Walmart, and the USDA urge consumers to either return, or throw away the products that have been recalled.
