The international sandwich shop that got its start in Connecticut is reportedly closing many locations possibly hundreds, according to Today.com.

The need to close could have been caused by competition or "branding issues" that developed from the criminal conviction of their spokesperson, or possibly even issues regarding the quality of their ingredients.

In hopes of re-branding and staying viable, the Milford, CT based Subway chain is going to close hundreds of stores in the United States, but possibly open many more in other parts of the world. In 2017, 800 sandwich shops all over the United States were on the slate to close.

It’s all about location, location, location, as they look to keep only the stores with the best ones. They’ll also keep focused on boosting sales. Subway says they are introducing a new line of wraps as well as a loyalty program. Their new campaign slogan is: "Make It What You Want”, with a new look for stores that they are keeping open.
