Mother/Daughter Duo in New Milford Looking for Their Forever Home
Two senior Chihuahuas have arrived at the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford and they are now looking for a new forever home.
Their names are Sissy and Monkey, and they came to the Animal Welfare Society from one of those high kill shelters in the south.
Sissy and Monkey are a 13 and 11 year old mother/daughter duo. Sissy and Monkey need to go home together, hey, they're small so they don't take up much room. They do okay with cats and dogs their size, however, these girls would do best in a calm quiet home where they can spend their days on the couch being cuddled. It is also recommended that they find a home with no young children because they are small and they are senior dogs.
Since they are senior dogs, and if you're a senior too, you can get the special Animal Welfare Society senior discount. As with all the animals at the Animal Welfare Society, both are all up to date on their vaccines, and of course, they have both been spayed.
So if you're feeling a little like Taco Bell, bring the experience home with Sissy and Monkey, you'll be glad you did.
Now, because of the COVID-19 restrictions, if you're interested in adopting one of the featured pets, any dog or cat at the shelter, you must first fill out an application on their website at aws-shelter.org. Once your application is approved, you can call them at 860-354-1350 and schedule your one-on-one limited contact meeting.
The shelter is always in need of items to help keep the animals safe and clean. Right now, they are looking for bleach, paper towels and dry cat food.
If you can contribute, you can drop off the items at the shelter at 8 Dodd Road in New Milford. Just let them know you're going to drop something off, and you can do it with no contact by just leaving it in front of their building. You can also check the Animal Welfare website for their Amazon wish list, and have the items delivered right to the shelter.
