Naugatuck Police responded to a call from the store at 1100 New Haven Road (Rt. 63) on Thursday evening, December 17, 2020, at 6:47PM, on a complaint from Walmart Loss Prevention Specialists that they had observed three individuals leave the store without paying for over $1,300 worth of merchandise. All of the subjects were observed leaving the scene in a older Tan colored Honda Odyssey. They had the back license plate covered, they knew what they were doing going in.

If you recognize any of these people, you are being asked to assist the Naugatuck Police by identifying them. If you have any information, you are being asked to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221, or you can anonymously call the NPD Confidential Tip Line at 203-720-1010.

I read through the Naugatuck Police blotter quite often when they post it to their social media pages, and people are arrested at this Walmart almost daily for shoplifting. Some of the comments on the Naugatuck PD's Facebook post disparage the police for not posting an officer directly in the store. I can tell you that police presence comes at a fairly high cost, and retailers are at the mercy of officer availability. It's sad that some of us have to steal in order to survive, but $1,300 worth of merchandise is not something that you can overlook.
