Talk about a throwback. The New Milford Historical Society has been busy working on restoring a vintage flag that dates back to the early days of the Civil War.

Before you check out the photos of this historic flag and its restoration, here's a little background on just what the New Milford Historical Society is all about.

The Historical Society preserves the history and the backgrounds of individuals, their way of life, and their customs in the greater New Milford area. The Society also promotes educational, cultural, and civic activities, and it also sponsors many town programs that bring the history of the town alive to local residents.

The Museum has been closed since the start of the pandemic last March, but that doesn't mean the staff hasn't been working hard on various projects, one of which is the restoration of a vintage Civil War flag.
