This week we have a very special kitten who's looking for someone with a big heart to reach out and give her some love and a forever home.

Wobble is a special needs cat who is a sweetheart. She's a five month old Bombay mix who was born at the Animal Welfare Society. She was born with cerebellar hypoplasia, which effects the way she is able to control some of her body, like her back paws.

She'll need a special home where she can't get near any stairs, also have easy access to the things that she'll need like her litter pan, water and food. Wobble would also have to be the only pet in the house for various safety reasons. All pets from the AWS are always up to date on all their vaccines and she has been spayed as well.

She does love to play and with some patience and love, and of course a little work, she could start to regain the use of her back legs. There's something very rewarding about taking in a special needs pet, so why not take a chance on Wobble.

Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, if you're interested in adopting one of the featured pets, any dog or cat at the shelter, you must first fill out an application on their website at aws-shelter.org. Once your application is approved, you can call them at 860-354-1350 and schedule your one-on-one limited contact meeting.

The shelter is always in need of items to help keep the animals safe and clean. Right now, they are looking for bleach, paper towels and dry cat food.

If you can contribute, you can drop off the items at the shelter at 8 Dodd Road in New Milford. Just let them know you're going to drop something off, and you can do it with no contact by just leaving it in front of their building. You can also check the Animal Welfare website for their Amazon wish list, and have the items delivered right to the shelter.
