New Social Media App Lets You Stream Live

Have you heard of Periscope? It's my new favorite addition to all the social media apps.

This one allows you to follow people (just like on Twitter), but it includes live streaming. So, you can start a stream and those that are following you can tune in and watch. There is also a chat feature, so you can have conversations with people while you are watching.

I'm still learning my way around the app; it's only been around for a couple of months. I follow some people who have different kinds of Disney fan sites, so it's fun to chat with them when they do the live streams. One of them, @FloridaPlunge,  even brought us on a tour of Universal! I know it's not Disney, but it was pretty cool seeing the Harry Potter section!

I've learned that when you tap the screen, during a stream, hearts appear. These hearts are ways for the person streaming to get on the "most loved" list. I'm guessing those are featured streams that would show up, if they get enough hearts.

Like I said, I'm still learning things about the app. It's pretty fun though! I haven't streamed yet, even though I have followers, because I'm not sure what to stream. Want to come to the grocery store with me?
