A full-term newborn baby boy was found dead by an employee of a carting company in Stamford, CT.

The Daily Voice reports that Lt. Thomas Scanlon of Stamford Police Department said that the body of the infant was discovered this morning (October 16) at about 8:40am at the City Carting garbage transfer station at Taylor Reed Place. Police, fire and emergency services were dispatched to the scene but it was too late to save the baby who is now with the The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

This facility receives recycling materials from other refuse companies. Investigators have narrowed down the areas where the infant was transported from to be Stamford, Greenwich, Somers, New York, Oyster Bay in Long Island and Andover, Massachusetts.

The investigation continues at the transfer station and anyone with any information is asked to call Stamford Police Major Crimes at 203-977-4420. Any calls will be kept strictly confidential.
