Newtown Police Commissioner Admitted to Danbury ICU for COVID-19

Newtown's Police Commissioner is currently being treated at Danbury Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to an announcement from the Newtown Police Department on Thursday evening (March 26), Police Commissioner Dr. Neil Chaudhary's admission into the Danbury ICU is related to complications from his exposure to the novel coronavirus.

The NPD says that Dr. Chaudhary's family describes him as a "strong individual and is giving his all to fight this infection." The Department went on to says that they ask for prayers from members of the community.

"His family here at the police department is certainly sending them his way," said a representative of the Newtown PD. "Stay strong, Dr. Chaudhary, we are with you and all of Newtown is with you, God Bless."
