A young man was sent to Danbury hospital today (September 15) with non-life threatening injuries after he was shot once in each arm.

According to a press release from the Danbury Police Department, officers, emergency personnel, and firefighters responded to a home on Church Hill Rd. in Danbury after a shooting was reported at around 1:21 PM. When they arrived, police say they discovered a 20-year-old male with two gunshot wounds, one in each arm. The male has yet to be identified, and the gunshots are believed to have been made with bird-shot style ammunition.

The report goes on to say that as a result of the shooting, both Westside Middle School Academy and the Mill Ridge Primary school were placed on a temporary lock-down as police began their investigation.
