Danbury Police have been investigating a murder that took place on July 12, 2020 during a candlelight vigil in the area of Beaver St. and Elm St. in Danbury, where a man was shot to death, further identified as Raymond Simmons of Waterbury.

Early Wednesday morning, July 29, Danbury Police Investigators, with the assistance of the CT State Police and the U.S Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Taskforce arrested Bryan Dorin Howell for the alleged murder of Raymond Simmons.

Howell is being charged with murder, assault in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit. He was arrested in North Grosvenordale, CT without incident, and is currently being held at Danbury Police Department on a $1,000,000.00 bond.

According to a press release from Danbury Police Department, as the investigation for the alleged murder went on, multiple witnesses were identified and interviewed and several anonymous tips were received, as well as surveillance footage obtained and reviewed.
