A young woman from Danbury suffered injuries after police say she was sideswiped by a Queens man who was allegedly drag racing with another vehicle on I-684.

According to the Patch, New York State Police were dispatched to mile marker 22 northbound on I-684 near Rt. 116 in Purdys, where Troopers found a damaged vehicle on the shoulder of I-684 and an overturned vehicle on Rt.22.

Police identified the Queen's man as 27-year-old Quintin Rodriguez. He was driving a 2019 Kia Optima, and was allegedly drag racing with another unidentified vehicle when he clipped a 2007 Acura SUV driven by Sara Sendra-Heredia, a 22-year-old Danbury woman.

Sendra's Acura then reportedly struck a guardrail and flipped over onto Rt.22. Luckily, she was able to crawl out from her overturned SUV and suffered only minor injuries. She was transported by ambulance to Danbury Hospital.

The Queens Rockaway Beach resident, Quintin Rodriquez was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and reckless driving. Police are still looking for the other supposed driver involved in the drag racing incident.
