Police in Nashville, TN are looking to locate a local Connecticut man in connection with a recent stabbing attack that left one man dead and a woman critically injured.

According to a press release from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, 34-year-old Peter Alexander Bohning of Kent is being sought for questioning in relation to a grisly attack that took place Friday afternoon (June 21) inside of West Nashville home.

Members of the MNPD responded to the Cherokee Rd. residence of Donald and Leigh Ann Zirkle around 3:30 PM on Friday after reports that 58-year-old Leigh Ann Zirkle had collapsed in the street right outside of the home. She had reportedly suffered a number of severe wounds, including one to her neck and neighbors were doing what they could to help.

When officers arrived, they say that in the process of clearing the home, Leigh Ann's husband, 59-year-old , was found to have also suffered critical injuries. At that point, he was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he unfortunately died.

Despite her serious injuries, Leigh Ann Zirkle was reportedly able to speak with detectives at the hospital where she described the events of the tragic afternoon. She told the investigators that she and her husband were sitting on the back porch when a white man somewhere in the age range of 20 to 30 years old, whom they were unfamiliar with, approached them. He then reportedly asked for directions and immediately attacked the couple with what's been described as a sharp instrument. During the melee, Leigh Ann Zirkle was able to make it into her house and then ran out the front door into the street, while police believe the killer fled in the Zirkle’s 2010 gray Toyota Camry.

On the scene, officers discovered a silver Subaru sedan with Connecticut license plates that was parked in the street at the side of the house with its rear doors wide open. The car is registered to Peter Alexander Bohning, hence his being wanted for questioning. Police say Bohning whereabouts are unknown and that his family in Connecticut has not heard from him in several days.

Anyone seeing the Bohning and/or the Zirkle's Camry bearing Tennessee license number NP5-937 is urged to immediately contact the Metro Nashville Police at 615-862-8600 or their local law enforcement agency.
