A Putnam County man was arrested after police say he stole a local woman’s car that was parked at a train station.

On May 6, 2016 around 2:30 p.m., an unnamed Patterson resident arrived got off a train at the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Patterson Station to discover that her vehicle had been stolen from the station parking lot.

The victim called police who began an investigation. Police say their investigation led them to identify 41-year-old Paul H. Andrews, of Patterson as the alleged suspect.

On Tuesday, Andrews was located by authorities, arrested, and charged with 4th-degree grand larceny, a felony.

The victim’s car was later found at the Shop Rite Plaza on Route 52 in the Town of Carmel.

Andrew was arraigned at Town of Southeast Court and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond. He’s due in Town of Patterson Justice Court on May 23.

If found guilty of the felony charges, the defendant could face up to four years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
