Rascal Flatts have released plenty of songs that have undoubtedly become the soundtrack to many a romantic night, including "I Melt" and "I Won't Let Go." However, their biggest love song to date is "Bless the Broken Road," a mega-hit from the country trio's 2004 album, Feels Like Today -- and the band says that the tune still makes people swoon.

"There’s been people getting engaged at so many shows -- guys with big signs, or their friend says something to get Gary [LeVox]’s attention," Flatts member Joe Don Rooney told The Boot and other reporters at a recent media event. "People get engaged right there on the spot. It’s so cool; it’s such a life-changer for so many people out there."

Even after performing "Bless the Broken Road" at almost every show for the past 12 years, the Flatts still love that in-concert moment.

"I don’t know if people realize just how impacted we are by that," Rooney adds. "It’s so cool that we’re seeing something so profound to so many people. I got married after that song was out, so it hits me in a different way now ... It’s just amazing that "Broken Road" is such a special part of our lives."

Bobby Boyd, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band‘s Jeff Hanna and Marcus Hummon co-wrote "Bless the Broken Road" in 1994. The NGBD were the first to record the tune, that same year, for their Acoustic album, while Hummon released his own version of the song on his 1995 album, All in Good Time. Rascal Flatts' version of the song spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, has been certified platinum and earned a Grammy Award for Best Country Song.

The Flatts, who were are nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the 2016 ACM Awards, will kick off a Las Vegas residency -- their second in two years -- on Feb. 17. Dates and ticket information are available on their website. "Bless the Broken Road" is available for download on iTunes.
