Ridgefield’s Hoodoo Brown Does It Again at CT Wing Fest 2017

No matter what your competing in winning is always tough, and repeating two years in a row takes a very special effort.

When I talked to Chris from Hoodoo Brown's last week and told him Trophies would be presented at both of our Ct. Wing Fest sessions you could tell he started really feeling the pressure. Last year during our 2016 Ct. Wing Fest, Hoodoo Brown's was the big winner taking home hardware for both the judges and people's choice.

"You mean we can win 4 Trophies this year ?" was his question to me. Right then and there I knew what was going through his head. Not only would Hoodoo Brown's have a chance to repeat, but they had a chance at a clean sweep, you know win it all. The challenge had been issued.

Well Hoodoo Brown's came pretty darn close to total wing domination Saturday night at our 3rd annual Ct. Wing Fest at the Matrix Conference and Banquet Center in Danbury. They took home the trophy for "Peoples Choice", and came in 2nd in the "Judges Choice" category in session one. (Blind Rhino in South Norwalk took home the trophy for Judges Choice). But they rebounded and dominated during the second session taking home both "People's and Judges Choice".

"That second place finish in session one really hurt my heart, so we knew we had to bounce back and bring our A game to be in a position to sweep session two" Chris told me after the big win Saturday night.

Well sweep they did and wound up taking home 3 of the 4 Trophies. No they weren't perfect, but pretty darn close and were the overall 2017 Ct. Wing Fest winners again this year. Time to think about a 3 peat now Chris....Good Luck !

Our next big event is coming up on March 25th, it's our annual Hat City on Tap event. It's 3 hours of Craft Beer sampling (4 hours with VIP tickets), great food, and live music, at the Danbury Ice Arena.
