Rita’s Italian Ice In Bethel Closes Unexpectedly

Just in case you were wondering why Rita's Italian Ice in Bethel was closed the last time you stopped by, well there's a good reason — they've shut down for good.

Somethings going on in the Stony Hill Corners Plaza in Bethel. According to newstimes.com, a few months ago JM Collectibles closed suddenly, but was replaced quickly by American Tiger Martial Arts Academy, now it looks like it's all over for Rita's Italian Ice.

The owners of the chain took to Facebook last month and let their customers know they were closing immediately:

Since 2014, Italian Ice and Ice Custard lovers had made Rita's the place to be on a warm summer night, now just like a number of other local business's, they have shut their doors abruptly, leaving everyone asking why?

Local residents we're shocked and saddened to hear the news:

We tried to reach the owners of Rita's for comment, but even the phone number is no longer in service.
