Rt. 133 Closed This Weekend, Expect Detours From Brookfield to Bridgewater

The Brookfield Police Department has asked us to put the word out about a traffic alert for this weekend. Route 133 from Brookfield into Bridgewater will be closed this weekend for bridge construction on the bridge over Lake Lillinonah.

This is part of an ongoing rehabilitation project on the bridge. A couple of weekend closures happened last Fall as well.

The closure will take place from 8:00 PM Friday (June 19) through 5:00 AM Monday (June 22.) A second closure is also currently scheduled for next weekend (June 29- 29) as well.

Detours from Brookfield into Bridgewater will be posted, so be prepared to take a slightly longer and more scenic drive through that part of Western CT this weekend. Detours will include Rt. 67, Route 7 and 202 and Route 25. Please plan your route accordingly. Also, the closure prevents quick access to the Rt. 133 State boat launch on Lake Lillinonah from the Southern side. With hot weather expected this weekend, the  launch could be busy, so be ready to take the long way around to the boat launch.
