Fun for the whole family, and some great ideas for parents to keep their kids safe.

Something fun and helpful is all set to be put on your calendar for Saturday July 29 in Danbury. A day for you and your children to have a great time together while learning about putting safety first.

I recently had a great conversation with Traci Williams from JCPenney at the Danbury Fair Mall and she told me about an event called the Safety Bash happening Sat. July 29 from noon - 4 p.m. in the JCPenney parking lot adjacent to the parking garage.

JCPenney has teamed up with local organizations that work to keep all of us safe, to provide a fun and informative day out. The Danbury Fire Department, Danbury's Police Community Service Division, the Western Connecticut Chapter of B.A.C.A. and more will be there to talk about public safety and keeping our kids safe.

Speaking of the kids, the event will have a fire truck, police cars, along with motorcycles for the kids to touch throughout the day. You know how the kids go wild for that!

There will be cool activities with the kids too like face painting, hair chalking, and more. JCPenney will also be giving out special coupons for this day only.

Please take advantage of the Safety Bash, a day long, FREE event on July 29, that will be working to build the bond between first responders, community organizations, and the people in the community they serve.
