Lady Antebellum is one of country music's hottest groups. They were awarded Top New Duo or Group by the Academy of Country Music and New Artist of the Year by the Country Music Association in 2008. They were nominated for two Grammy Awards at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards and two more at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.

Darius Rucker first gained fame as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the Grammy Award-winning American rock band Hootie & the Blowfish, which he founded in 1986. In early 2008, Rucker signed to Capitol Records Nashville and began a career in country music. Darius was awarded Top New Duo or Group by the Academy of Country Music and New Artist of the Year by the Country Music Association in 2008.
