It was kind of nice to have a little taste of spring over the past weekend, but it looks like that's all going to change by this coming weekend.

Not only was it warm on Sunday, but the National Weather Service reported a high of 69 degrees Sunday at Sikorsky Memorial Airport, which set an all-time record for the warmest January day ever in Connecticut.

Other towns in the region, including Danbury, also set new records on Sunday and even though it was a bit cooler, records were also set on Saturday with temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to around 70 degrees. It was also the earliest in the year that Bridgeport has reached a high of 69 degrees.

With that out of the way, I hope you enjoyed the nice weather, because by the end of the week, and heading into the weekend, we could see our first major snowfall of the new year.

The National Weather Service is reporting that a significant winter storm is a possibility. Right now, forecast models are tracking a storm moving in late Friday from the Ohio Valley into western New York and Connecticut. So in other words, we could all be trading in our short sleeve shirts for snow shovels.

Now don't panic yet, and hold off on the bread and milk, because weather patterns can change very quickly. But at least for now, we have to keep an eye on Saturday and Saturday night.

Here's the official National Weather Service forecast for Wednesday Through Saturday:

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 48.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 43.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 31.

Saturday: A mix of Rain and snow likely, with a high near 40. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Saturday Night: A chance of snow with a low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
