Concerts Happening in Ridgefield’s Parks (CHIRP) has been credited with bringing shared experiences to Ridgefield for the past 18 years. In Ridgefield’s own Ballard Park, neighbors from all corners have made a tradition out of the town’s Tuesday and Thursday evening concerts.

This year, concerts require pre-registration given the park's capability to keep spectators appropriately distanced from one another. CHIRP has implemented a number of regulations in line with the state and town COVID-19 guidelines, including mandatory mask-wearing for groups of 10, including children.

On the registration page, it states that each group will have access to their own “pod” outlined by paint marks in the grass. Each area sits 15 feet away from the next nearest pod. Concert-goers are expected to sit throughout the duration of the show and keep their masks on except when eating.

According to the CHIRP website, the concerts are entirely free and therefore rely on donations to continue to operate. With help from individuals, foundation donations and contributions from local businesses, Ridgefield has witnessed great talent walk across their neighborhood stage each summer.

During the month of July, the community has already rocked out with the Bumper Jacksons duo, The Klezmatics and on Tuesday evening, The Mammals will take the Ballard Park stage. The Adam Ezra Group will follow on July 28th.

To register for future shows, be sure to visit the CHIRP website or any of their various social media platforms.
