This Saturday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day, a day to take a moment to personally thank a vet for their service and remember the men and women who gave their lives protecting this amazing country.

There are 16 million veterans who are still alive today that served in at least one war. Of the 16 million vets who served in WWII, 620,000 are still with us today. Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans, living or dead, but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably.

This Saturday in Danbury, the Danbury Council of Veterans invites you to attend their annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 am at the Danbury War Memorial. The Mystic Aquarium will honor our nation's heroes for one entire week from Nov. 11 through Nov. 19 by giving our vets complimentary admission with a valid U.S. military I.D. Click ctvisit.com for more information.

This Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11 and Nov. 12 at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk you're invited to their Veterans Military Touch-A-Truck Weekend where there will be two military vehicles that will be open to exploration and photos. For all the details, click on ctvisit.com.

What our living war veterans truly appreciate hearing on Veterans Day is the simple phrase, "Thank you for your service."
