It's that time of year.

Every time I start seeing seasonal places open back up for the year, I get so excited because that means summer is right around the corner. We've been teased with some nice weather lately, and I'm so excited for it to be our norm in no time.

There are a lot of things we do right in Connecticut when it comes to the food department. We're known for a lot of the best stuff. Pizza, cheeseburgers, sandwiches, you name it. Another thing to add to that list is ice cream. Connecticut is home to some of the most notable ice cream in the country.

Known as some of the best ice cream in Connecticut, I would give 2 different answers. Rich Farms and Ferris Acres. And good news, they are both officially open for the season!

Rich Farms officially opened for the season in March. They announced on March 14 they'd be open for their 30th season. Head over to their Facebook page to see their daily specials on top of their already extensive flavor menu. You won't be disappointed. This is one of my absolute favorite places to get ice cream. Their cookie monster flavor in a waffle cone... yum. Unbeatable.

Another Connecticut favorite just officially opened for the season as well. Ferris Acres officially opened for the season on April 30. It seems like they were missed. They posted on their Facebook page that they were having a soft opening on the 29, and a customer posted a picture of the line wrapped around with the comment "Here now. Lot full. Soft opening, eh?" Well can you blame them? When your ice cream is that good, people want to come and see you.

I'm so glad that its officially warm weather / ice cream season and that we can enjoy some of Connecticut's best all season long.
