  • Accolades for a Connecticut teacher. John F. Kennedy High School - Waterbury -social studies teacher Jahana Hayes is Connecticut's teacher of the year and is among four finalists for the national Teacher of the Year Award for 2016.


  • You're going to have to head to Virginia to watch the HARTFORD Yard Goats play! At least the first 17 scheduled home games will be on the road this season. The minor league baseball team was forced to adjust their schedule because the team's stadium under construction in Hartford won't be ready in time.


  • Two major fantasy sites will be able to keep operating in New York state. An appellate panel ruled this week that DraftKings and FanDuel can do business in New York. The ruling stands until a full appeal on the decision is heard in May.


  • Convicted killer Steven Avery - "Making a Murderer"- is appealing his conviction in the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach. The Wisconsin Court of Appeals got his request this week, plus he has filed two motions alleging his due process rights were violated.
