On June 2, people were encouraged to wear orange for National Gun Violence Awareness Day. I had no idea that there was a massive walk planned for Main Street in Newtown, though, it makes complete sense.

While having dinner on Dere Street's patio, we were able to see hundreds (no joke) of people walking up Main Street in Newtown, and they were all wearing orange. As if that sight didn't give me a sense of pride, many people on the patio started applauding as the long line passed by us.

Why the color orange? Because it is the color hunters wear so they don't accidentally get shot. Makes sense, right? I couldn't believe the sea of orange that was coming up the street, and every time I thought it was at the end, I saw more people.

It wasn't just in Newtown, this was a national event. It happened all over the country from the east coast to the west coast.
