A Hudson Valley woman injured in the Easter Sunday church bombings in Sri Lanka has died.

Chelsea Decaminada of Westchester passed away on May 5 as a result of injuries sustained during the April 21 terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, according to her obituary.

"Chelsea was a dedicated public servant who was on assignment with the Office of the General Counsel – and as noted by the United States Department of Treasury – served her country with distinction," Westchester County Executive George Latimer said in a statement.

The 2011 graduate of John Jay Cross River graduate was serving the country for the US Department of Commerce as an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program.

"Decaminada passed away as a result of injuries sustained during the April 21st terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, where she was on assignment. It was our great hope that Chelsea would recover from her injuries," Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross said. "Chelsea devoted her life to public service, and her dedication and spirit were a model for all of us at Commerce. She served her country with distinction. As we mourn her loss, we must continue to fight terrorism around the world."

A funeral is planned in Somers on Thursday.
