Are there any businesses that you miss that are no longer around? I love the nostalgic feeling that comes along with memories like this. So, here are a couple of stores that I miss from my childhood.

Both of the stores I'm going to mention were located in the Sand Hill Shopping Plaza in Newtown, CT. There have been quite a few stores that have come and gone in that plaza, and there was even a little mall open at one time.

One of the stores was called Toy Works. It was a really fun toy store that was a nice substitute for not being close to Toys R Us. My mom said she loved it because it wasn't expensive, so it was great to shop there for Christmas for me and my brother. We love the video game area that they had at the far end of the store. I wish this store was still around, because I remember having a lot of fun there, and it would have been great to bring my kids there.

The other store I miss was in the same plaza. It was called Priced Right, and the store was like the dollar stores that are all over the place these days. There was an isle where you could fill bags with candy for a pretty inexpensive price. They also had a wall of those troll dolls, and my friends and I started collecting them, so we'd come out of the store with a bag of candy and a troll doll. Money well spent!

One other thing I miss in that plaza is the little mall being open. It had a gazebo in the middle, and bands would play there sometimes. You could get to other businesses from inside of the mall, and they were usually food related businesses in the mall. There have been ice cream shops, restaurants with bars, and even a Duchess fast food restaurant.

Those are some of the businesses that I miss from my childhood. Are there any businesses that you wish were still around?
