What questions are Stop & Shop customers asking as the strike enters its seventh day?

Stop & Shop employees have been on strike now for one full week. If you're a customer, you may have some questions, because I know I do. I sourced out an article on connecticutmag.com to get some answers.

Are Stop & Shop Stores Open Despite the Strike? -  Yes, stores are open but hours could differ depending on the store.  What we do know is the Lake Ave. Extension store in Danbury IS open from 8 am to 8 pm on Friday but the Danbury/Newtown Rd. will not be open. People's United Bank and Stop & Shop pharmacies will remain open. My advice would be to call your Stop & Shop store for their hours during the strike.

Should I Cross the Picket Line? - Totally your decision, but many Stop & Shop parking lots are nearly empty.

Are They Close to Reaching an Agreement? - According to WFSB, workers are saying there is no end in sight but a union spokesperson says that talks are ongoing. For an update on union negotiations click on this link. For Stop & Shop updates, click here.

In our cozy little town of New Fairfield, there's a family-owned market called the New Fairfield Food Center. Their deli and meat departments are second-to-none. Even though they aren't able to compete with the volume and pricing of the large grocery stores like a Stop & Shop, their hometown friendliness, signature deli sandwiches, homemade soups, and friendly employees are a welcome treat in town. My advice, shop local when you can.
