Lots of us are getting ready to travel over the Labor Day weekend and when there’s increased traffic, there’s also going to be police presence on the highways.

According to a press release, the Connecticut State Police will have regular as well as roving law enforcement patrols out through the holiday weekend. They will mainly be looking to prevent drunk driving, distracted driving, ensure seat belt compliance, and enforce speeding laws. Last year over the Labor Day weekend, police wrote gave out 1,189 speeding tickets, 46 to seat belt law non compliance, 2,764 moving violations and 47 were arrested for DUI.

Here are some of the places we’ll see roving and fixed patrols:

  • Ellington
  • Greenwich
  • Hartford
  • New Haven
  • Norwalk
  • Stamford
  • Stratford
  • Trumbull
  • Wethersfield
  • Windsor
