I think that Bill Cosby is pretty much the poster boy for why this should happen at Yale University.

When I found this piece of information from yaledailynews.com, I thought to myself, it's about time, and I don't believe I'm alone in that. Here's what I'm talking about: Yale University is planning to review its long standing policy of not revoking honorary degrees.

According to yaledaileynews.com, University spokesman Tom Conroy said the the Yale Corporation will review the University’s long-standing practice of not revoking the special degrees. That announcement came the same day that Bill Cosby was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman. Cosby got an honorary degree from Yale back in 2003.

The story goes on to say that both students and alumni have been asking the Corporation to strip Cosby of his degree since 2014 when the numerous allegations of sexual assaults by him came to light. Turns out, that many schools have retracted his honorary degrees, but Yale's stance has been that the University has never taken back an honorary degree, and that any change to the long-standing practice would have to be taken up by the Corporation, because they are the group that bestows the degrees.

Personally, I believe it's time for the Corporation and the University to make the move to revoke the honor.
