CT Resident Bound and Beaten in Home Invasion, 1 Arrested + More to Come
A Connecticut resident was found bound, beaten and bleeding when police arrived at his home.
Greenwich Free Press reports that Greenwich Police were called to a home on Brook Drive at about 3:00pm on Saturday (August 4). When officers arrived, they say they found the victim and treated him for his injuries. The victim reportedly told police that an armed group had forced their way in and restrained and beat him, demanding money and jewelry.
The house was searched and Detectives interviewed witnesses leading them to identify a New York City resident as one of the suspects. With assistance from the NY Violent Crimes Task Force, the FBI and NYPD took the suspect, 46-year-old Hassan Rodney Washington, into custody. Washington was arrested as a fugitive because of the arrest warrant obtained by Greenwich Police and is being held in New York until he is extradited to Connecticut.
The investigation continues and more arrests are expected. Lieutenant John Slusarz of the Greenwich Police says that based on the investigation, this was not a random home invasion but a targeted situation.
