Sesame Seed Restaurant in Danbury Is a Fusion Favorite
There are lots of places where you can get some form of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern Cuisine, but for some of the best around you have to try Sesame Seed Restaurant in Danbury.
Located right on W. Wooster Street in Danbury is a small slice of the Middle East in a very eclectic setting. Just by looking at the outside, you may never realize you'll get one of the best Mediterranean/Modern American dinners you've ever tasted.
Once you set foot inside, the old-school decor is like something out of your grandma's attic, but it lends itself to the cozy and relaxed atmosphere.
The menu items vary, and include what is called Middle Eastern, Modern American Fusion. Now, I'm not a big fan of the word fusion, I feel it's very overused today, but sometimes, it is what it is. You'll find classic Middle Eastern items such as Baba Ganouse, Tabuli, Kafta and Humus;
along side Chicken Mexicali, Eggplant Lasagna, Swordfish Nuevo and Gnocchi.
Now, how many times have you heard a restaurant saying all food is prepared on site using only the freshest ingredients? Well, I sure hope so. But the thing about Sesame Seed is that every dish I've ever had actually tastes like the fish were just caught, the vegetables just picked, or the pasta just made. Talk about healthy eating.
Now, no meal is totally complete without a little decadence. Their dessert menu is somewhat limited, but I'm sure you'll be able to find something that will satisfy. We usually choose the Mississippi Mud Pie.
It's small and quaint, and one of mine and my wife's favorite date night places. If you're looking for something a little different, and have a zest for some fabulous food, then I do suggest to give Sesame Seed a try. You'll be glad you did.
