It's hot, we all feel it, but your pet could be feeling it more. Here's some tips on how to keep your dog cool during this heat wave.

According to a report on foxct.com, A few simple precautions can keep your pet happy and cool. But you may have to look for a few signs.

Of course it's best to keep your pet inside when you can and if possible keep them in an air conditioned area.

Avoid walking them on asphalt and seek grass for walks. There's always an increase in paw burns when the weather gets this hot.

If their [body] temp starts to get above 102.5, they’re showing any symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, can’t get comfortable, excessively panting, you should call your veterinarian.

It's also important to cool them down slowly. Sometimes putting a little rubbing alcohol on their paw pads will help, putting a cold towel over them or wetting them down with cool water, not ice cold water, and water should be given to dogs in small amounts, rather than in buckets.

If you follow these simple tips your dog should stay much more comfortable during this excessive heat.
