Details Emerge Regarding Fatal Accident That Closed I-84
New details have been released regarding the fatal accident on Interstate 84 earlier this week.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on I-84 near the ramp to I-684 in the Town of Southeast.
The crash involved a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer. The operator of the passenger vehicle, identified as Donovan S. Grant, 63, of Queens, N.Y., was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The initial investigation suggests that a Jeep Liberty operated by Grant was traveling on the Interstate 84 eastbound entrance ramp from Interstate 684 northbound.
For an unknown reason, the Jeep Liberty exited the entrance ramp crossed the eastbound lanes, the center median, then entered the westbound Interstate 84 lanes and struck the tractor-trailer.
Multiple agencies assisted in this investigation.
