Tips to Keep the Kids (and Yourself) Sane This Winter
It's around that time when people start going stir crazy because they are stuck in the house. The snow and cold temperatures don't show signs of getting better anytime soon, so we need to find ways to keep ourselves sane.
This is especially true if you have little ones in the house. They have so much energy and if they can't get outside and run around, they start to get a little crazy because of all that pent-up energy.
I have some suggestions that might help.
There are fun activities for kids as well as some free local activities they can take part in. Sometimes local bookstores will have story time during the week and local libraries usually have activities for the kids. So definitely check your local library and see what programs are available.
Here are some ideas to help:
- Local library programs
- Local bookstores for story times, like Bryd's Books in Bethel
- Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk
- Ben's Bells in Newtown
- Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk
- Gyms with open play times
These are a good starting point, but you can check around your town. You might be surprised at how much there is to do! It helps to just get out of the house sometimes. The kids will get some of their energy out and you will be able to keep your sanity ;-)
