On Saturday we made the drive to the Woodbury Common outlets. I'm putting together a basket for a fundraiser at my daughter's school and it's Disney themed (of course). So I thought the outlet store might have some good deals.

While the outlets were a lot of fun, our favorite part of the day was when we drove by Bear Mountain. Have you been here? The views are breathtaking and this weekend was perfect for stopping at the overlooks.

There are hiking, biking, and cross-country ski trails, a hand-painted merry-go-round with 42 hand-carved seats of animals that are native to the area, places to stay, museums, a zoo, and (from what I see on the website) a lot more. We are definitely putting this on our list of places to check out during warm and sunny weekends!

Dogs are allowed, but must be on a leash. You can find park maps here. If you are looking for a place to spend a beautiful spring or summer day I don't think you will be disappointed visiting Bear Mountain State Park. It is located in Bear Mountain NY and you can find directions here.

The cost is $10 per vehicle, pool admission is $3 per person, a ride on the merry-go-round is $1 and kids under 42 in. must be accompanied by an adult, no charge (donations encouraged) for the museums and zoo, and boat rentals are $5 per person/per hour.
